western Jefferson and southeastern Fayette counties until 500 PM
CDT...

At 436 PM CDT, Doppler radar was tracking strong thunderstorms along
a line extending from near Jasper to near Boley Springs to
Tuscaloosa. Movement was west at 20 mph.

Winds in excess of 35 mph will be possible with these storms and
heavy rainfall may lead to minor flooding.

Locations impacted include...
Tuscaloosa, Northport, Jasper, Sumiton, Cordova, Dora, Holt,
Brookwood, Coaling, Vance, Berry, Parrish, Coker, Oakman, Sipsey,
West Jefferson, Gorgas steam plant, Bull City, Samantha and Lake
Lurleen State Park.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

Torrential rainfall is also occurring with these storms, and may lead
to localized flooding. Do not drive your vehicle through flooded
roadways.
