Excessive Heat Warning
Issued: 8:40 AM PDT Jun. 21, 2017 – National Weather Service

... Excessive heat warning now in effect until 11 PM PDT
Saturday...

* temperature... Valley High temperatures 103 to 112 through
Saturday with today and Thursday being the hottest days.
Overnight lows in the upper 60s to mid 70s through Saturday
morning.


* Impacts... long outdoor exposure will increase chances for heat
related illness, especially for sensitive groups and people
without access to ac. Heat stress possible for livestock with
limited relief from the heat overnight. Area waterways running
very cold and fast, increasing risk for hypothermia and water
rescues.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

Take extra precautions if you work or spend time outside. Avoid
strenuous activities in the heat of the day. Know the signs and
symptoms of heat exhaustion and heat stroke. Wear light weight and
loose fitting clothing when possible and drink plenty of water.
Do not leave people and pets should unattended in vehicles.

Fire Weather Warning
Issued: 3:12 PM PDT Jun. 21, 2017 – National Weather Service

... Red flag warning remains in effect until 11 PM PDT Thursday
for gusty north winds and low humidity for fire weather zones
213, 215, 216, 217, 218, 263, 264, 266, and 279...

* wind... north winds 10 to 20 mph, with locally higher gusts to
around 30 mph, spreading southward from the from the northern
Sacramento Valley and adjacent foothills down the valley and
into portions of lake and Solano counties tonight and Thursday.
Decreasing winds late Thursday night and Friday.

* Humidity... poor humidity recovery tonight as low as 25-40
percent. Minimum humidity lowering into the single digits and
teens Thursday afternoon. Slight improvement Thursday night and
Friday.

* Impacts... any fires that develop will likely spread rapidly.
Outdoor burning is not recommended.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

A red flag warning means that critical fire weather conditions
are either occurring now, or will shortly. A combination of
strong winds, low relative humidity, and warm temperatures can
contribute to extreme fire behavior.
