... Beach hazards statement remains in effect from 6 am PDT
Tuesday through Wednesday evening...
* waves and surf... 3 to 6 ft with sets to 7 ft along southwest
facing beaches north of del Mar.
* Timing... building tonight and peaking Tuesday and Wednesday.
* Impacts... there is an increased risk for ocean drowning. Rip
currents can pull swimmers and surfers out to sea. Large
breaking waves can wash people off jetties and rocks, and
capsize small boats near shore.
Swim near a lifeguard. If caught in a rip current, relax and
float. Don't swim against the current. If able, swim in a
direction following the shoreline. If unable to escape, face the
shore and call or wave for help.
