... Winter Weather Advisory in effect until noon MDT Wednesday...

The National Weather Service in Pueblo has issued a Winter
Weather Advisory for snow, which is in effect until noon MDT
Wednesday.

* Location... the western mosquito mountains in Chaffee County and
the lower elevations of the eastern sawatch, La Garita and
eastern San Juans mountains including Granite, South Fork and
Creede.

* Cause and timing... a very moist storm system will track slowly
east across central New Mexico into Texas through Wednesday.

* Snow accumulation... 5 to 10 inches with locally higher amounts.

* Wind... becoming northeast 15 to 30 mph tonight.

* Impact... travel will be hazardous due to snow, poor visibilities
and snow covered roads.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

A Winter Weather Advisory for snow means that periods of snow
will cause primarily travel difficulties. Be prepared for snow
covered roads and limited visibilities, and use caution while
driving.
