Winter Storm Warning
Issued: 3:31 AM MDT Mar. 29, 2017 – National Weather Service

... Winter Storm Warning now in effect until noon MDT today...

* location... the southern Sangre de Cristo Mountains including the
Spanish Peaks, Cuchara, Stonewall and Weston.

* Cause and timing... a moist Spring storm system will drift slowly
east across the Texas and Oklahoma panhandles into Kansas today.

* Snow accumulation... additional accumulations 4 to 8 inches.

* Impact... travel will be hazardous due to heavy snowfall, poor
visibilities and snow covered roads.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

A Winter Storm Warning for heavy snow means severe winter weather
conditions are expected. Significant amounts of snow are forecast
that will make travel dangerous. Only travel in an emergency. If
you must travel, keep an extra flashlight, food, and water in
your vehicle in case of an emergency.
