... National Weather Service Taunton offices relocating to
Norton, MA in February...

The National Weather Service (nws) southern New England weather
forecast office (wfo) and the northeast river forecast center
(nerfc) will be moving to a new building on or about February 27,
2018. The new office is located at 46 Commerce way in the Norton
Commerce park in Norton, MA. The radar will remain at the existing
location in Taunton, MA.

NWS forecast products and most services will be uninterrupted,
since during the move, WFO forecasters will be temporarily
relocating to the Gray, Maine forecast office and nerfc forecasters
will be temporarily relocating to NWS eastern region Headquarters
in Bohemia, New York.

Six NOAA Weather Radio transmitters will be temporarily off the air
for up to a couple of days during the move to the new facility.
These include:

Johnston, RI transmitter... ... wxj39... .162.400 mhz
Gloucester, MA transmitter... .wng574... 162.425 mhz
Blue Hill, MA transmitter... ..Khb35... .162.475 mhz
Somers, CT transmitter... ... ..wxj41... .162.475 mhz
Hyannis, MA transmitter... ... .kec73... .162.550 mhz
Paxton, MA transmitter... ... ..wxl93... .162.550 mhz

Because we are moving to a different town, all WFO and nerfc phone
numbers, except for the spotter 800 number, will be changing.
When these become known, we will provide further information.

We will provide an updated informational statement by the end of
January, as we get closer to the move date.
