Flood Warning
Issued: 10:32 PM EST Jan. 23, 2019 – National Weather Service

The Flood Warning continues for
the lookout creek near New England.
* Until Friday morning.
* At 10 PM Wednesday the stage was 13 feet... and rising.
* Minor flooding will continue.
* Flood stage is 12 feet.
* The river will continue rising to near 14.5 feet by Thursday
morning. The river will fall below flood stage early Friday
morning.
* At 13 feet... minor flooding expands along Sells Lane in Trenton...
Mason Road near Rising Fawn... and Creek Road near New England.
All these roads will be closed. Also minor flooding expands much
further downstream as the creek crosses the Tennessee border into
the tiftona area.

... Flash Flood Watch remains in effect until 7 am EST Thursday...

The Flash Flood Watch continues for

* portions of north Georgia... mainly along and north of Rome to
Canton to Cleveland line.

* Until 7 am EST Thursday.

* Widespread showers will continue late this evening allowing for
storm total amounts of 1 to 3 inches.

* Several creeks and rivers could rise out of their banks
closing or impacting homes, businesses and farms. Roads may
become closed for extended periods of time. High water will
not recede until well after the rain ends.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

A Flash Flood Watch means that conditions may develop that lead
to flash flooding. Flash flooding is a very dangerous situation.

You should monitor later forecasts and be prepared to take action
should flash flood warnings be issued.
