Flood Warning, Areal Flood Warning
Issued: 11:52 AM MDT May. 27, 2017 – National Weather Service

The Flood Warning continues for
the Big Wood River at Hailey.
* At 10:30 am Saturday the stage was 5.5 feet.
* Flood stage is 6.0 feet.
* Minor flooding is occurring and moderate flooding is forecast.
* Forecast... the river will drop today followed by rising levels
through the remainder of the week as temperatures begin to warm.
* Impact... at 6.7 feet... some street flooding will occur in the
lower sub-divisions in Hailey and Riverview drive in Bellevue.
Draper preserve in Hailey is inaccessible. Water will be over
some secondary roads in west Ketchum.

The National Weather Service in Pocatello has extended the

* Flood Warning for...
rain and snowmelt in...
Custer County in central Idaho...
Blaine County in central Idaho...
northwestern Butte County in southeastern Idaho...

* until 400 PM MDT Monday

* river levels have fallen over the last two days due to cooler
temperatures, however much warmer temperatures are expected to
return by mid-week with a resumption of snowmelt flooding issues
once again. Emergency management officials continue to report
flooding along the Big Wood River near Hailey and Warm Springs.
Flooding is also occurring along the big Lost River from Howell
ranch to MacKay Reservoir. Additional minor flooding is occurring
from Leslie to the Darlington flats, and along Antelope Creek from
grouse toward Darlington. Minor flooding is also occurring along
Valley Creek near Stanley. Many back country roads may still be
inundated with water or washed out and travel in those areas is
not advised.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.

A Flood Warning means that flooding is imminent or occurring. All
interested parties should take necessary precautions immediately.
