The Flood Warning continues for
the Wabash River at New Harmony
* from Friday evening until further notice.
* At 9:30 PM Wednesday the stage was 14.1 feet.
* Flood stage is 15.0 feet.
* Minor flooding is forecast.
* Forecast... rise above flood stage by Friday evening and continue to
to rise to near 18.0 feet by Friday evening... February 1st.
* Impact... at 19.0 feet... Harmonie State Park is closed. Surrounding
bottomland is flooded.

The Flood Warning continues for
the Wabash River at Mount Carmel.
* From Thursday afternoon until further notice.
* At 8:45 PM Wednesday the stage was 17.3 feet.
* Flood stage is 19.0 feet.
* Minor flooding is forecast.
* Forecast... rise above flood stage by Thursday afternoon and
continue to rise to near 23.5 feet by Thursday January 31.
* At 23.9 feet... extensive lowland flooding in progress. In Wabash
County Illinois, south division street and 1.5 miles of CR 1280 E
remain flooded. High water blocks access to Cabins along south
division street and some nearby oil fields.

The Flood Warning continues for
the Wabash River at Vincennes.
* From Thursday evening to Saturday February 02.
* At 10:45 PM Wednesday the stage was 11.8 feet.
* Flood stage is 16.0 feet.
* Minor flooding is forecast.
* Forecast... rise above flood stage by Thursday evening and continue
to rise to near 18.3 feet by Wednesday January 30. It will fall
below flood stage by Saturday February 02.
* At 18.0 feet... agricultural lands and some oil fields flood.
Several township roads about 1.25 miles south of St. Francesville
and River Road between Billett Road and Lincoln Memorial bridge in
Lawrence County are flooded. Extensive flooding of Kimmell Park at
Vincennes.

The Flood Warning continues for
the White River at Hazleton.
* Until further notice.
* There have been no observations in the last 24 hours.
* Flood stage is 16.0 feet.
* Minor flooding is forecast.
* Forecast... it is forecast to crest at 21.9 feet Wednesday January
30.
* At 22.0 feet... in agricultural season, extensive flooding of
bottomlands and some of the higher bottomlands is in progress.
High water surrounds residents in river Cabins. Oil fields and
local roads flood.

The Flood Warning continues for
the White River at Petersburg.
* Until further notice.
* At 10:30 PM Wednesday the stage was 18.7 feet.
* Flood stage is 16.0 feet.
* Minor flooding is occurring and minor flooding is forecast.
* Forecast... it will continue rising to near 21.9 feet by Tuesday
afternoon then begin falling.
* At 21.3 feet... State Road 257 south of Washington began to flood
during may 2008 after local rains of more than an inch on very wet
soils with Petersburg at 21.3 feet and rising and Shoals at 15.5
feet and rising.

... Very cold wind chills expected early Friday morning...

With another blast of Arctic air coming with a system's passage
this evening, tonight's low temperatures will plummet through the
teens, with some single digits possible by daybreak Friday
morning along the Interstate 64 corridor in southern Illinois and
southwest Indiana.

Gusty north winds will be what blasts this cold air into the
region, and the combination of wind and cold will likewise plummet
wind chills late tonight and early Friday morning. Wind chills
are a measure of what the air actually feels like, due to the
combination of its temperature and the wind speed. For early
Friday morning commuters to work or school, you can expect to be
greeted with negative single digit wind chills for much of
southern Illinois and southwest Indiana, with wind chills from
near zero to the single digits across most of southeast Missouri
and western Kentucky.

Bundle up, and prepare yourself, to protect from this bitter cold,
early Friday morning.

Similar wind chill readings will be felt again, with yet another
Arctic blast of air that is coming in the long range portion of
the forecast, next Tuesday and Wednesday morning.
