Severe Thunderstorm Warning
Issued: 4:08 PM CDT Jul. 19, 2018 – National Weather Service

... A Severe Thunderstorm Warning remains in effect until 500 PM CDT
for northern Franklin and eastern Douglas counties...

At 407 PM CDT, severe thunderstorms were located along a line
extending from near Linwood to near Edgerton to near Rantoul, moving
east at 50 mph.

These are very dangerous storms.

Hazard... 80 mph wind gusts.

Source... trained weather spotters. Measured severe winds have been
         reported with these storms.

Impact... flying debris will be dangerous to those caught without
         shelter. Mobile homes will be heavily damaged. Expect
         considerable damage to roofs, windows, and vehicles.
         Extensive tree damage and power outages are likely.

Locations impacted include...
Lawrence, Ottawa, Baldwin City, Eudora, Wellsville, Centropolis,
Pomona, Rantoul, Pleasant Grove and Vinland.

This includes the following highways...
Interstate 35 between mile markers 183 and 198.
Kansas Turnpike between mile markers 201 and 205.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

For your protection move to an interior room on the lowest floor of a
building.

This is a dangerous situation. These storms are producing widespread
wind damage. Seek shelter now inside a sturdy structure and stay
away from windows.
