Watches & Warnings

Special Statement
Issued: 1:02 AM CST Jan. 24, 2019 – National Weather Service

... Slick spots possible through the morning hours...

Temperatures have dropped below freezing behind a strong cold
front early this morning. Enough moisture is still around for a
wintry mix of drizzle, sleet, light freezing rain, and snow
through the early morning hours. Although Road temps are mostly
above freezing, light slushy accumulations of sleet or freezing
rain could lead to some slick spots, especially on bridges and
overpasses. The most likely area for a coating of sleet and snow
or a glaze of ice would be on elevated surfaces such as roofs,
decks, and vehicles. Accumulations between one half and 1 inch
would be most likely along the I-75 corridor between 4 and 7 am
EST. Most other locations should see less than a half an inch. Use
caution if traveling this morning.
