Flood Warning
Issued: 7:59 PM CST Feb. 21, 2018 – National Weather Service

The Flood Warning continues for
the Sabine River near Deweyville.
* From Saturday morning until further notice... or until the warning
is cancelled.
* At 7:45 PM Wednesday the stage was 19.7 feet.
* Minor flooding is forecast.
* Flood stage is 24.0 feet.
* Forecast... rise above flood stage by Saturday morning and continue
to rise to near 24.9 feet by early Monday morning.
* Impact... at stages near 25.0 feet... lowest roads beside the river
flood around Deweyville and subject to being closed. In addition,
low-lying roads in southwest Beauregard Parish are flooded
including Robert Clark Road. Flooding occurs on the south side of
Niblett Bluff park with access roads to Camp houses cut off around
the park. Access roads to the river in northeastern Orange County
become flooded.

The Flood Warning continues for
the Bundick creek at Bundick Lake.
* From late Saturday night to late Sunday night... or until the
warning is cancelled.
* At 7:45 PM Wednesday the stage was 95.3 feet.
* Minor flooding is forecast.
* Flood stage is 97.0 feet.
* Forecast... the river is expected to rise to near flood stage early
Sunday morning.
* Impact... at stages near 97.0 feet... minor flooding begins around
the lake, especially the north end of the lake.

... Flash Flood Watch now in effect until midnight CST tonight...

The Flash Flood Watch is now in effect for

* portions of Louisiana and southeast Texas, including the
following areas, in Louisiana, Allen, Beauregard, Calcasieu,
Rapides, and Vernon. In southeast Texas, Hardin, Jefferson,
northern Jasper, northern Newton, Orange, southern Jasper,
southern Newton, and Tyler.

* Through midnight. Rain amounts of 3 to 5 inches possible over
central Louisiana into the lakes region of interior southeast
Texas, with isolated higher amounts. Rain amounts of 1 to 3
inches possible for southwest Louisiana and southeast Texas with
isolated higher amounts.


Precautionary/preparedness actions...

A Flash Flood Watch means that conditions may develop that lead
to flash flooding. Flash flooding is a very dangerous situation.

You should monitor later forecasts and be prepared to take action
should flash flood warnings be issued.
