Issued: 3:13 PM EST Jan. 23, 2019 – National Weather Service

... Winter Weather Advisory remains in effect until 8 PM EST this
evening...

* what... light spotty freezing rain. Ice accumulations of a light
glaze.

* Where... western Franklin MA, eastern Franklin MA, western
Hampshire MA and western Hampden MA counties. The primary area
of concern is in the higher terrain... especially at elevations
near or above 1500 feet.

* When... until 8 PM EST this evening. Temperatures will rise above
freezing by mid to late evening.

* Additional details... untreated roads and walkways might be slippery
into early this evening.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

A Winter Weather Advisory means that periods of freezing rain
will cause travel difficulties. Expect slippery roads. Slow down
and use caution while driving.

Flash Flood Watch
Issued: 3:18 PM EST Jan. 23, 2019 – National Weather Service

... Flash Flood Watch now in effect from Thursday morning through
late Thursday night...

The Flash Flood Watch is now in effect for

* all of southern New England except for the outer islands.

* From Thursday morning through late Thursday night

* rain will overspread southern New England tonight and become
heavy at times on Thursday. By the time the rain tapers off by
early Thursday evening, 1 to 2 inches of rain are anticipated
with locally higher amounts possible.

* The heavy rain combined with snowmelt will result in the
potential for areas of significant urban street flooding. In
addition... some small river and stream flooding is also possible.


Precautionary/preparedness actions...

A Flash Flood Watch means that conditions may develop that lead
to flash flooding. Flash flooding is a very dangerous situation.

You should monitor later forecasts and be prepared to take action
should flash flood warnings be issued.
