Flood Warning
Issued: 10:39 AM CDT Mar. 25, 2019 – National Weather Service

The Flood Warning continues for
the Mississippi River at Cape Girardeau
* until further notice.
* At 10:30 am Monday the stage was 38.2 feet.
* Flood stage is 32.0 feet.
* Moderate flooding is occurring and moderate flooding is forecast.
* Forecast... the river will continue rising to near 40.5 feet by
early Sunday morning then start a slow fall.
* Impact... at 42.0 feet... several homes and structures in southern
Cape Girardeau County may be inundated or cut off due to backwater
flooding from the Diversion Channel. Evacuations may be required.
Thousands of acres are flooded. Numerous roads are closed both
along the Mississippi River and due to backwater flooding.

Survey summary: the tornado uprooted a couple trees and broke
several tree limbs along and west of McCracken County Road to the
northeast of Hickory. A picture of the tornado was take from the
west side of Highway 45 in Hickory.


Ef scale: the Enhanced Fujita scale classifies
tornadoes into the following categories.

EF0... weak... ... 65 to 85 mph
EF1... weak... ... 86 to 110 mph
EF2... strong... .111 to 135 mph
EF3... strong... .136 to 165 mph
