Blizzard Warning
Issued: 2:52 PM MST Feb. 23, 2018 – National Weather Service

... Blizzard Warning remains in effect until 6 am MST Saturday...

* what... ground blizzard occurring. Winds gusting near 55 mph
across the plains, with gusts as high as 75 mph in wind favored
areas and immediately east of the mountains are causing whiteout
conditions in blowing snow. Significant drifting of the snow is
occurring. Additional snow accumulations of up to two inches,
with localized amounts up to 6 inches, are expected tonight
over the mountains close to the Continental Divide.

* Where... northern and southern Rocky Mountain front, including
all of Glacier County, western Pondera and Teton counties, and
northern Lewis And Clark County.

* When... until 6 am MST Saturday.

* Additional details... travel will be very dangerous to
impossible. Many roads in the area are closed. Roadways prone to
drifting snow have become impassable. Drifting snow may trap
people in homes and strand travelers on roads.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

A Blizzard Warning means severe winter weather conditions are
occurring. Falling and blowing snow with strong winds and poor
visibilities are likely. This will lead to whiteout conditions,
making travel extremely dangerous. Do not travel. If you must
travel, have a winter survival kit with you. If you get stranded,
