Winter Storm Warning
Issued: 10:27 AM MST Feb. 22, 2019 – National Weather Service

... Winter Storm Warning remains in effect until 5 am MST
Saturday...

* what... heavy snow. Total snow accumulations of 4 to 8 inches,
except 10 to 20 inches above 7500 feet. Locally higher amounts
are possible along the highest peaks of the Southwest Mountains.
South winds gusting around 40 mph today will create blowing and
drifting snow.

* Where... northwest Highlands, west Central Plateau, west
central mountains, west Central Highlands, Southwest
Mountains, San Francisco River Valley and Jemez Mountains.

* When... through 5 am MST Saturday.

* Additional details... travel will become very difficult to
impossible. Including the I-40 corridor near and west of Grants
to the Continental Divide. Periods of very poor visibility are
likely in falling and blowing snow.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

A Winter Storm Warning for snow means severe winter weather
conditions will make travel very hazardous or impossible. If you
must travel, keep an extra flashlight, food and water in your
vehicle in case of an emergency.
