Winter Storm Warning
Issued: 4:45 PM MST Feb. 18, 2019 – National Weather Service

... Winter Storm Warning remains in effect until 5 PM MST
Tuesday...

* what... heavy snow expected. Total snow accumulations of 3 to 10
inches expected, except 1 to 2 feet in the northern mountains.
South and southeast wind gusts up to 35 mph in the Sangre de
Cristo and Jemez Mountains will create patches of blowing snow.

* Where... much of northern and western New Mexico.

* When... until 5 PM MST Tuesday, with the heaviest snow expected
tonight into Tuesday.

* Additional details... travel will be very difficult to impossible
from snowpacked and icy roads and reduced visibility. Wind chill
temperatures in the single digits and teens tonight and Tuesday
morning, except as cold as negative 13 degrees along and east of
the Sangre de Cristo Mountains.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

A Winter Storm Warning for snow means severe winter weather
conditions will make travel very hazardous or impossible. If you
must travel, keep an extra flashlight, food and water in your
vehicle in case of an emergency.
