southeastern Yates County in central New York...
* until 415 PM EDT Tuesday.
* At 954 am EDT, Doppler radar indicated that the heavy rain has
ended across the warned area. Runoff from the heavy rain earlier
today will continue to cause flash flood problems. There were
reports of major flash flooding including flooded residences,
campers washed away, and roads flooded. Expect the flash flood
problems to abate this afternoon.
* Some locations that will continue to experience flooding include...
Hector, Starkey, Dundee, Ovid, Interlaken, Burdett, Lodi, Caywood,
Reynoldsville and Reading Center.
Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.
A Flash Flood Warning means that flooding is imminent or occurring.
If you are in the warned area move to higher ground immediately.
Residents living along streams and creeks should take immediate
precautions to protect life and property.
