... The Flash Flood Warning remains in effect until 415 PM EDT Tuesday
for southwestern Broome and northern Susquehanna counties...

At 1000 am EDT, gauge reports indicated Choconut creek was near 12
feet and will continue to rise and crest around 13 to 14 feet which
causes major flooding. Residences along the Choconut creek should
heed all evacuations and take quick action to protect life and
property.

Some locations that will experience flooding include...
Kirkwood, Conklin, rush, Montrose, Hallstead, New Milford, Great
Bend, Little Meadows, Friendsville and Vestal Center.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

Move to higher ground now. Act quickly to protect your life.

A Flash Flood Warning means that flooding is imminent or occurring.
If you are in the warned area move to higher ground immediately.

* Flash Flood Warning for...
southern Broome County in central New York...
southeastern Tioga County in central New York...
northeastern Susquehanna County in northeastern Pennsylvania...
northwestern Wayne County in northeastern Pennsylvania...

* until 330 PM EDT Tuesday.

* At 922 am EDT, Doppler radar indicated thunderstorms producing
heavy rain moving northward into Tioga County, Broome County,
northeast Susquehanna County and northern Wayne County,
Pennsylvania. The thunderstorms were moving very slowly and given
the wet soils flash flooding will occur. This is a potentially
dangerous situation. Persons in flood prone areas should take
immediate action to protect life and property.

* Some locations that will experience flash flooding include...
Binghamton, Vestal, Johnson City, Endicott, Sanford, deposit,
Susquehanna Depot, Port Dickinson, Windsor and Lanesboro.

The wappasening creek that flows into Nichols is expected to reach
13 to 14 feet and likely will begin flooding issues for the Nichols
area.

The Flood Warning continues for
the Susquehanna River at Conklin.
* From 6 PM Tuesday until Wednesday afternoon.
* At 4 am Tuesday the stage was 10.6 feet.
* Flood stage is 12.0 feet.
* Minor flooding is forecast.
* Forecast... the rise is forecast to rise above flood stage by 6 PM today and
crest near 12.2 feet around 8 PM today.The river will fall below flood stage
around 2 am Wednesday.
* Impact... at 12.0 feet... flood stage. Alta, river and Lawrence roads closed in
the town of Conklin due to minor flooding. No homes are flooded at this river
Stage. Valley park in Kirkwood takes on water.
