Flash Flood Watch

... Flash Flood Watch remains in effect through late tonight...

The Flash Flood Watch continues for

* a portion of southeast West Virginia, including the following
areas, eastern Greenbrier, Mercer, Monroe, Summers, and
western Greenbrier.

* Through late tonight.

* Rain will move from Kentucky into West Virginia today. This rain
is expected to be heavy at times this evening, and may result
in flash flooding of small streams and creeks overnight.

* Poor drainage and lowland areas will be most susceptible to
flooding. Ponding of water is likely on roads. Debris from
roadside ditches may also get washed onto area highways.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

A Flash Flood Watch means that conditions may develop that lead
to flash flooding. Flash flooding is a very dangerous situation.
Remember... if water covers the Road, turn around... don't drown!

You should monitor later forecasts and be prepared to take action
should flash flood warnings be issued.
