Areal Flood Advisory
Issued: 8:34 AM MDT May. 26, 2018 – National Weather Service

The National Weather Service in Riverton has extended the

* flood advisory for...
snowmelt in...
central Fremont County in central Wyoming...

* until 900 am MDT Sunday

* minor flooding of low lying areas along the Wind River from DuNoir
valley downstream to the black bridge area near Riverton will
continue through Sunday morning.

* At 800 am, the Wind River near DuBois was near 5.1 feet. Minor
flood stage is at 5.0 feet. The river is expected to rise to 5.3
feet by early Sunday morning. Minor flooding of low lying areas in
and around DuBois usually occurs at river levels of 5.0 to 5.3
feet.

* At 800 am, the Wind River at Riverton is receding after cresting
at 8.7 feet late Friday night. The river is expected to rise and
fluctuate at 9.1 to 9.2 feet late Saturday night/early Sunday
morning. Minor flood stage is at 9.0 feet. Minor flooding of low
lying areas near the black bridge area usually occurs at river
stages of 9.0 to 9.5 feet.

* Warm and windy conditions over the mountains Saturday followed by
widespread rain showers on Sunday will cause even sharper rises in
river levels along the Wind River for the remainder of the
Memorial Day weekend. This advisory will most likely be upgraded
to a Flood Warning with the expected much higher river flows.

A flood advisory means river or stream flows are elevated, and minor
flooding of low lying areas is occurring or is imminent.
