NOT: SNOW, ICE, FREEZING TEMPS & HIGH FRIGID WINDS!

MY OPENING FAREWELL TO WU BUT NEVER WU FRIENDS!

   IMPORTANT NOTICES FOR LONGTIME
    WU BLOGGERS JUST BELOW!!

Hey, there may be even more hope for some more of us longtime WU bloggers yet!
Aquak9 and her terrifically talented hubby, Rainman (son of Prosperpina), have created a new
simple WU blog site where we can all gather and still post pics or and some animated graphics.
Sorry but it doesn't allow all Youtube videos or maybe I didn't try hard enough.. Granted, it's not
like our individual blogsites here but it's a wonderful safe start to keep us all up-to-date plus
inform friends about either weather related issues (without having to soon own a meteorological
degree) or a variety of other topics to discuss. I'm posting the linkup to her new website below
for everyone to try if they'd like. I've joined already and am thrilled to see so many other familiar
WU monikers there as well!

HERE'S ANOTHER GREAT NEW WEBSITE CREATED BY WU'S ROBDAHOOD! It's called "The new Ark2"
and has all the familiar posting features currently used here on WU but like Aquak's site has
no individual blogs... as yet. I've joined this site as well and am supplying everyone with the
direct link below to check it all out. Beautiful design and terrific expansive posting features!
You can even post Youtube music videos using its supplied I frame code instead of using his
Youtube generator code that I have had linked here (to the side of my blog) for some time.
Rob's a real computer whiz and been an occasional go-to-guy when I've needed some real
computer expertise and advice. In time, he hopes to expand his site to include even a wider
variety of other enjoyable sections aside from those already listed. So exciting!

Link to "WELCOME TO THE ARK" - also for former WU bloggers.

HOPE TO SEE MANY FAMILIAR MONIKERS ON FLICKR, AQUAK's "We are Seeds of
Wunderground" ON DISQUS OR ON ROB'S NEWLY CREATED NEW ARK BLOGSITE!!!
I'd hate to lose contact with the manywonderful longtime friends made here!

    WUNDERBLOG PRODUCT UPDATE - FAQ

03-01-17: I have just learned that this will be my very last created blog since WU's decided to downsize, destroy, eliminate our blogs and its wonderfully vibrant blogging community as of Apr. 3rd. Hopefully, all of us long-timers can exchange regular email or other viable website addresses so to keep in touch! Sorry, but I don't care for Facebook, but do have a Flickr account for just a few pictures. I have already signed up on Sandiquiz's Flickr blog for "WU Survivors", Aquak and Rainman's "Seeds of WU" on Disqus but, MOST NOTABLY, Robdahood's great new Classic WU-like venture, "The new Ark2".

This WU situation pains me to no end since it clearly shows that, once again, "Corporate America" cares little to none about the clients or consumers it is supposed to serve and only of their own profitability or self-interests. I seriously doubt that this website will thrive once all these so-called "progressive" (yeah, right) moves or changes occur for, as far as weather forecasting and features go, there are better weather sites than this that serve both meteorological specialists as well as just the ordinary weather enthusiast like myself. Additionally, I believe it was the large number of individual bloggers and wide variety of blog topics that really put the original WU website on the map ...so to speak.

I will be forever grateful, though, not only for all the wonderful, hopefully, lasting friendships formed here over these past 8 yrs of posting, but of all I've been taught and have learned from many very kind, caring, highly knowledgeable souls! I thank, too, those close friends who entrusted me with some of their more personal problems behind the scenes and those whom also made me feel supported, less alone and buoyed while under certain types of duress. Additionally, thanks to my computer wizard friends here for not only helping me to increase my overall knowledge, but in helping me to increase my slowly ever- burgeoning computer skills!!! Back in June of 2009, I was a relative novice during my first attempt to post on a blog. Later, that same year in November, the supportiveness, instruction and patience of close WU friends then gave me the impetus to start my own blog!!! Hard to believe how all the interim years have so quickly sped by and are soon coming to a end.

I will miss you all so much, come April 3rd, but hope there'll be enough of us who can keep in touch via other web/blogsites or just regular email. Until that time arrives, I will try to continue blogging/posting here daily with all you other remaining diehards for as long as humanly possible! In the meantime, keep your chin up dear buddies and may we get to post with one another again real soon!

Painfully, Tearfully, but With Deepest Gratitude,
Your longtime WU Buddy,
Masshysteria

The map below is a composite plot of the radar summary, echo tops, storm movement,
TVS and MESO signatures and watch boxes. The radar summary is color coded by precip
type. Greens, yellows and reds are rain. Pinks are mixed precipitation (freezing rain, sleet).
Blues are snow. NOTE: Radar data is susceptible to a phenomena called anomalous propagation.
This generally happens at night and appears as a area of 20 dBZ echos (darkest green)
which is centered around each radar site and expands with time. To try and reduce the
problem, low echo values near the radar sites have been removed.
