We interrupt our regularly scheduled programming to bring you this important public service announcement:

May is Melanoma/Skin Cancer Awareness Month.

You all know I have a very personal reason to do what I can to get the word out about the dangers of skin cancer. I'm not the only one here on WU that does, either. Several of our bloggers have dealt with this themselves or with family members.

I'm sorry to be recycling an old entry. I'm still computer-less at the house, though that should change soon. I don't have much time at work to fix up a fancy new entry. I hope the links still work. if not, I'm sure I'll hear about it! LOL

I can do some tweaking later on.

There was an article in today's paper about MUSC and The Spa at Charleston Place having their annual partnership for skin cancer awareness this month.

As many of you know, I'm a big reader. Being a big reader, I like to think that I have a larger than average number of words (and their definitions) in my lexicon.I don't have to run for the dictionary as often as I did in my younger years. Even then, sometimes I couldn't be bothered to stop reading long enough to look things up. I could get the general idea, if not the specific meaning, just from the context of what I was reading. Greetings and Happy 2012 to everyone!
