A little about my self -
I joined weather Underground in August of 2005 right after they opened the blogging feature. I have been a weather hobbyist since the middle 60's when I lived on the west coast of Florida, north of the Tampa Bay area. I currently live in a small community in central Illinois.
I have been through numerous Hurricanes during my life time. The worse being Hurricane Camille in August 17,1969, A Cat 5, where the eye passed over the location I was at. That being Biloxi, Ms when I was in the USAF stationed at Keesler AFB.
Thank You for visiting my blog !

There is a significance and meaning behind seeing a white rabbit anywhere. They are portents of the possibility of spiritual enlightenment and/or an encounter with the Divine.
White rabbits seem to be metaphors that signify an invitation to step out of ordinary time. You have been chosen; it is not necessary to know or to ponder why. They call us out from our ordinary life to go on an extraordinary journey which will lead us to an experience which will transform us in some very significant way.
The white rabbit is an invitation. It never coerces but gently compels us to let go of what we think is important to explore what is of ultimate importance. It is an invitation to enter into the realm of the real, hidden, intuitive, unconscious world that exists underneath what appears to be reality. The unlikely pilgrim will be taken to places that s/he never dreamed possible and the passage will cost more than what most are willing to freely give.
If you happen upon a white rabbit, remain awake and alert to the direction you must go and be ready to let go of everything you believed was important. Or...you can continue what you were doing and ignore the invitation. The choice is entirely up to you.
Wabit ...
Sadly this will be my last blog as the title says .. As WU will not longer have blogs after April 3 !!
Thanks to everyone who has made comments here since Aug 2005 when I made the first of many blogs ..
We have laughed and cried and everything in between here .. we have worried about each other and had great joy at each others good news .. especially new family members and grand children .. We have also cried when a member has lost a loved one ..
I will miss all of you more then you can imagine !!
I am also Whitewabit on Flicker and there is mail there so drop me a line every now and then ..

6:55 PM GMT on March 24, 2017It sure doesn't seem like Old Man Winter wants to let go of you folks. We had a drop last week and a milder drop this week but it's warming back up. All the early spring flowers have bloomed out. That cold snap last week did a number on SC's peach crop.

7:11 PM GMT on March 07, 2017A lot of strong winds associated with the front .. we had winds gusting to 40-45 mph most of the afternoon and evening .. when the front went thru it only lasted 5 to 10 minutes and then just light rain for 1/2 hour .. there were many tornado reports 33 reports but some of those are reporting the same occurrence so closer to 28 will be the actually number of tornados occurring ..
had to chase down my garbage cans this morning .. one was against the tree break behind the house and the other one was bout 75 feet into the farmers field .. so the one rolled over 400 feet from where it had been next to the shed ..
